We’re Blue Jays fans now…
The Blue Jays took both games of a double-header against the ChiSox to help the Twins out significantly. The Twins trounced the Royals today 7-2 behind Morneau’s HR and Mauer’s 2 RBIs. Blackburn picked up his 10th win of the season, which means that if Baker wins 2 more games, all 5 of the Twins original starters will have 10 wins (if you count Livan Hernandez’s 10 wins with the Twins before he left). I think that’s a pretty amazing statistic… especially when Livan basically tried to lose games.
So now we just have to pray the ChiSox continue to implode, and with Konerko’s MCL strain, it looks as if they’ll lose another hitter at least for a little while. I don’t want to win the division with the other team getting injured, but you just can’t change how it goes. I admit the ChiSox aren’t the same team without Crede, and Carlos Quentin injured, and no Konerko, but I still believe they have more than enough offense to win games. It is just their pitching that needs help. The Twins, on the other hand, have little offense, but steady pitching, so that’s how they win games. It’s just different philosophies and I believe that it will still all come down to the 3-game series at the end of September.
